These products are designed for people who care about their health and enjoy an active lifestyle.

The first concepts of using pumps in swimming pools for training purposes appeared in the 1970s. Over time, these solutions were improved and developed into several different variants before being introduced to the commercial market. Initially, swim spas with counter current systems were mainly intended for athletes and rehabilitation purposes, where the water environment provided better conditions for exercise and recovery. In simple terms, swim spas with counter current systems can be compared to treadmills – in both cases, movement takes place “in one spot” and is generated automatically.

Our range includes two types of swim spas with counter current systems. The difference lies in the technology used in each type. The most popular are the “Classic” swim spas, equipped with three water pumps for the counter current system. The flow strength is adjustable in three stages depending on the number of pumps operating – the more pumps running, the stronger the current (one pump provides the weakest flow, while three pumps provide the strongest flow).

The most popular model is the PUESTO 18188, featuring two independent zones: a swimming pool section and a SPA hydromassage section. Both zones operate independently, meaning they have separate electronics and separate water systems. The temperature can be adjusted individually for each zone. The SPA section is also equipped with a radio and television.

The best and most comfortable classic swim spa model is the two-level PUESTO 18178.

All swim spa shells are made from high-quality American acrylic, resistant to weather conditions and UV radiation. The pool structure is constructed from chrome-nickel stainless steel. Both the shell and cabinet are available in a wide range of colours, allowing customers to customise the design according to their preferences.

The control systems perform daily filtration and maintain the selected water temperature automatically. Standard equipment includes cartridge filters and an ozone generator for water disinfection. There is also an option to install a UV lamp and a sand filtration system.

The swim spas are designed for both indoor and outdoor use, during both summer and winter seasons. Thanks to the thermal cover and full insulation of both the shell base and cabinet, the water temperature is maintained for longer periods while electricity consumption is minimised. Illuminated handrails and water columns add an elegant visual effect to the entire unit.

One of the main advantages of these swim spas is their quick installation and short lead time. The most popular models are available from stock and do not require production waiting times. Installation only requires a level, hardened surface and two power supply cables. No extensive preparation is needed — only sufficient space in the garden or installation area. The wide range of available lengths allows the swim spas to fit even in smaller gardens.

Every outdoor bathtub and swim spa in our range features a shell made from premium-quality USA acrylic. The surface is manufactured from 100% pure acrylic with no additives, ensuring that it will not lose its shine even after years of use and remains highly resistant to scratches. The acrylic thickness used in our products is several times greater than the coatings found in many other bathtubs available on the market.

The jets are flush-mounted into the acrylic surface, which means that when lying in the bathtub, the user rests on the smooth acrylic rather than directly on the jets (as is common in many similar products). This prevents discomfort during hydromassage and ensures maximum comfort and complete bathing satisfaction.

The construction is made from stainless steel. The entire bathtub or swim spa is supported by a stable stainless steel frame, providing a strong and durable load-bearing base, which is especially important for larger models.

The weight of these SPA units ranges from approximately 250 kg up to even 1500 kg for swim spas. When the weight of the water and users is added, the total load becomes extremely significant and requires solid structural support. This is why a high-quality and durable frame construction plays such a crucial role in the overall strength and longevity of the bathtub or swim spa.

The BALBOA control panel operates all functions of the bathtub and swim spa, from activating the pumps, ozone system, and lighting to controlling the water heater. BALBOA is a USA-based company manufacturing premium-quality SPA components, including highly reliable and vandal-resistant control systems.

The controller features two independent water heating modes, allowing the user to easily adjust the water temperature according to personal preferences. After programming the appropriate filtration cycle, the circulation pump is activated, passing water through the filters and disinfecting it automatically.

The BALBOA control system can also be upgraded with a Wi-Fi module, enabling full control of the bathtub via a smartphone application.

Our bathtubs and swim spas are equipped with a 3000 W flow-through water heater. This allows not only rapid heating of the water but also maintaining a consistently high temperature. The heater is an essential component for comfortable SPA use.

The jets in the bathtub and swim spa are chrome-plated. There is no need to worry about limescale buildup on the jets. Each water jet is equipped with an air injection function, which adds air to the water system and increases the intensity of the hydromassage. The air flow can be smoothly adjusted using a control knob.

Most water jets can also be individually adjusted, allowing the user to control which parts of the body are massaged and with what intensity. The jets used in SPA bathtubs include rotary, directional, and point massage jets.

The full insulation of the SPA bathtubs is made using polyurethane foam. The entire shell of the bathtub is covered with insulation approximately 15 mm to 30 mm thick, while the cabinet and base insulation thickness ranges from approximately 10 mm to 15 mm. This significantly reduces heat loss and helps minimise electricity consumption by the heater.

The cabinet is made from high-quality weather-resistant synthetic material. Exposure to sunlight does not cause fading or discolouration of the cabinet finish. A wide range of colours is available and can be selected from the colour chart.

The base is made from polymer material and is moulded as a single solid piece. It has been specially designed to provide insulation from the ground, moisture, and weather conditions. The base, cabinet, and full insulation system together create a “thermos effect,” allowing the water to retain heat for a long time while maintaining low energy consumption.

Insulation Standards for Outdoor SPA Bathtubs:

– Polyurethane foam shell insulation thickness: approximately 15 mm to 30 mm

– The cabinet frame is made from wood, while the outer cabinet panels are manufactured from high-quality synthetic material (cabinet insulation thickness: 30 mm)

– The entire cabinet and base are insulated with polyurethane foam with a thickness of approximately 10–15 mm.

Thermal imaging photo taken during winter at an outside temperature of approximately -6°C. The bathtub was filled with water and ready for use, while the external temperature of the cabinet and cover remained around 0°C. This demonstrates the low level of heat loss.

The pumps and heater generate heat beneath the bathtub, reducing the amount of heat escaping through the shell and helping to lower electricity consumption.

The polyurethane foam insulation used on the base of the bathtub is more efficient and releases less heat into the environment compared to the foil-backed thermal insulation foam commonly used by competitors. Foil insulation foam cannot fill every gap as effectively as polyurethane foam, which tightly seals every empty space, preventing heat from escaping from the shell water system.

Two ball valves are installed at the circulation pump and water heater. In the event of a component failure, the valves can be closed, allowing the part to be replaced without the need to drain the water from the bathtub.

The manifolds and pumps are also equipped with additional pipes connected to the drainage system. When draining the bathtub, water flows out of all pipes and pumps naturally by gravity, without the need for air blowing or dismantling the pumps.

Every SPA bathtub and swim spa is supplied with a thermal cover made from high-quality materials. The cover completes the unit by sealing it properly and preventing heat loss to the atmosphere.

For bathtubs and swim spas that are not installed in a recessed area, matching steps in the same cabinet colour are available as an optional extra. The steps are manufactured from the same material as the cabinet.

We are the only company on the market offering fibre optic lighting systems and underwater lighting with 7 different colour modes in our SPA bathtubs and swim spas. Fibre optic lighting is significantly superior in quality compared to standard LED lighting — it is completely maintenance-free and produces brighter, more vivid illumination.

These lighting systems create an exceptional atmosphere and provide an outstanding bathing experience. The lighting can smoothly transition between colours or be set to remain on a selected colour, enhancing both hydromassage and swimming enjoyment.

Available colours: red, blue, yellow, green, orange, purple, and white.

Colour therapy (chromotherapy) is an alternative wellness method based on exposing the human sense of sight to specific colours that can calm, relax, or stimulate the body and mind. Spending time surrounded by different colours may help improve mood, increase energy levels, and promote a sense of optimism.

The ozone generator is a special system designed to sterilise the water, ensuring that both the bathtub/swim spa and the water remain clean. It is a modern and efficient method for eliminating bacteria, algae, and other impurities, allowing the water to remain usable for up to 6 months without replacement.

An optional UV lamp system for water treatment is also available for SPA bathtubs and swim spas. Acting as a steriliser, the UV system removes harmful substances and eliminates viruses and bacteria from the water. This technology provides exceptionally clean water and is ideal wherever high water purity is required.

When combined with the ozone generator, the UV lamp creates a system that can maintain clean SPA water without the need for chemical treatments.

For SPA bathtubs and swim spas intended for public use, there is also an option to connect a complete water treatment station with a sand filtration system. Several types of treatment systems are available, including compact dosing stations for pH and chlorine control, as well as pH and H₂O₂ (hydrogen peroxide) systems.

Active oxygen systems are recommended for users who are sensitive or allergic to chlorine. Professional dosing stations are also available for automatic control of pH, chlorine, anti-algae solution, and flocculant agents.

The sensors are installed within an isolated chamber, protected by a built-in filter that cleans the water before it reaches the sensors, helping to prevent damage. The water treatment stations are fully automated — once calibrated, the system independently monitors water quality, performs testing, and doses the required chemicals into the SPA bathtub or swim spa automatically.
